→ VODOVNIK AWARD – Best Student Papers

At the 2000 IFESS Meeting in Aalborg, Denmark, the Executive Board of IFESS instituted the Vodovnik Student Paper Competition in honor of the late Dr. Lojze Vodovnik, consisting of three prizes to be awarded to the best three papers submitted and presented at IFESS conferences by students.

→ Bohdan V. Olijnyk Research Participant Award

The Spinal Cord Injury Treatment Centre (Northern Alberta) Society (SCITCS) approached IFESS to establish the Bohdan V. Olijnyk Research Participant Award to recognize the partnership between the researcher and the volunteer participants required to move research from the laboratory to the community. The Award is presented during the annual IFESS conference.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Instructions for preparing the manuscripts for the IFESS 2021 Conference

IFESS 2021 Conference accepts only manuscripts describing original theoretical or practical results of the research, implementation of the theoretical results for solving engineering problems and description of a practical solution or an instrument. 

The list of topics is the following:

  • FES for upper and lower extremities,
  • spinal cord stimulation,
  • breathing/coughing and airway management,
  • stimulation of denervated muscles,
  • pain,
  • urology,
  • fitness and cardio-vascular system,
  • implantable systems,
  • stimulation of the central nervous system,
  • clinical results of using FES,
  • quality of life with FES,
  • neurorehabilitation,
  • hybrid systems (FES and robots), and
  • BCI and FES.

Other FES related contributions will be considered even if they do not belong directly to the listed topics.

Only results not published or presented elsewhere are acceptable.


One to four pages long manuscripts prepared in the standard double column format that is a somewhat modified version of the IEEE Transactions format are welcome. Manuscripts must be submitted in electronic form in PDF format before August 5, 2021.

REVIEW PROCESS:

All papers submitted for presentation at the Conference will be peer-reviewed. If the paper has been accepted conditionally by the review board, the authors will be requested to return the final version of the paper not later than August 5, 2021.
